What is bridal boudoir photography?
Bridal boudoir is an intimate, empowering portrait session you do before your wedding. Many brides give the images to their partner as a wedding gift, and many keep them as a keepsake just for themselves. At Artography by Bethany in West Fargo, ND, every session is fully guided and you choose your comfort level, from lingerie and your veil to your wedding dress.
When should I book my bridal boudoir session?
Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead. Sessions are held on Thursdays and Fridays. You will see your images 5 to 6 days after your session at your reveal, and products ordered that day take 8 to 12 business days to arrive. If you want to give your gift on the wedding day, plan your session at least a month before the wedding.
What should I bring to my bridal boudoir session?
Bring the pieces that make it yours: your veil, your dress, your wedding shoes, your jewelry, your garter, even your ring or a love note from your partner. Most clients bring 3 to 5 outfits, you get a styling guide after booking, and the studio has an inclusive client closet in sizes XS to 6X to borrow from.
I've never done boudoir. Do I need to know how to pose?
No. Bethany directs every pose from head to toe, so you never have to know how to model. Most first-time clients say their nerves fade within the first 10 to 15 minutes. You can pause, skip a pose or stop at any time.
Is hair and makeup included?
Yes, with The Experience. It includes a pre-session wardrobe consultation and fitting, the client closet, professional hair, makeup and lashes, a 2-hour guided photo session, and a reveal and ordering appointment. Plan for about 3.5 hours in total on session day.
Who will see my bridal boudoir photos?
Only you, unless you say otherwise. Your images are private by default and are never posted publicly, on social media or in a portfolio without your explicit consent, image by image. Files are stored securely and delivered through a secure cloud service only you can access.
Where is the studio?
Sessions are held at the private Artography by Bethany studio at 1702 4th Ave NW in West Fargo, ND, just minutes from Fargo and Moorhead. The team is all female: photographer, hair, makeup and assistant. On-location sessions are not available.
Do you photograph brides from outside Fargo?
Yes. Brides come to the West Fargo studio from Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead and the surrounding areas, including Dilworth, Horace, Casselton, Grand Forks, Valley City, Jamestown, Wahpeton, Breckenridge, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls and Crookston, and from across North Dakota, including Bismarck, Minot and Dickinson. Sessions are always held at the private studio, so plan to make a day of it.
What wedding gifts can I give from my session?
