FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Can I see the studio before booking?
Yes! I encourage everyone to schedule a time to come see the studio in person. I want you to feel comfortable and welcome in my space. You’ll have the opportunity to see the styling room, browse through available wardrobe, talk about styling, and see all of the beautiful products to choose from. Q: Is hair & makeup included?
Professional hair and makeup is included in the session fee. Our makeup artist extraordinaire will consult with you on how you wish to wear your makeup and hair on the morning of the session. We will guide you through this process if you’re unsure of what you want. False eyelashes are also included.
Q: Do you provide wardrobe? Can I bring my own?
You’re welcome to bring your own lingerie, shoes, accessories and props. You’re also welcome to wear anything from the studio wardrobe. You’ll be able to select your favorite outfits during your complimentary fitting appointment prior to your photo shoot.
Q: What is a fitting appointment?
You have a thousand ideas running through your head before your photo shoot. “What should I wear?” “What looks good on me?” “What will flatter my body?” “HELP!” Oh girl, been there done that! A fitting appointment is a time when you can bring in wardrobe items from home and mix and match them with anything in my wardrobe. You can take your time and try on anything you’re drawn to and we will help you select outfits you love. By selecting 3-4 of your favorite outfits before your session, you’ll be able to come to your photo shoot with confidence in knowing you’re going to look and feel fabulous!
Q: How do I book a session?
Contact me to select a date for your session. Sessions are available Monday-Friday. Saturdays are also available with an add-on rate. Session times are from 10:30am – 2:00 pm. Once we’ve selected your date, I’ll send you a confirmation email with a preparation list and arrival time. I’ll also send you a reminder the day before your photo shoot. I’m often booked a few weeks in advance with Saturdays filling the fastest. Keep this in mind if your planning for a special occasion.
Q: How long is a session?
Sessions start at 10:30 am and finish at approximately 2:00 pm. The first half hour is for getting settled and going over any final details. You’ll be in hair & makeup for 45-60 minutes with the remaining time used for the photo shoot.
Q: Can I bring a friend?
Answer A) If your friend is coming for moral support, but not participating in the session, the answer is no. As much as we want you to be totally comfortable during your photo shoot, having an observer is not permitted. You will be surrounded by your beauty team including your makeup artist and personal assistant and it’s our job to make sure you’re enjoying yourself and feeling at ease.
Answer B) If your friend would like to join the session and you’ll be splitting your time, absolutely! She is welcome to join in the fun and the only additional cost would be for her hair & makeup.
Q: I’m allergic to certain makeup and hair products. What should I do?
If you’re allergic, or have sensitive skin, we recommend that you bring your own beauty products and our makeup artist will use them during your makeover.
Q: Can you Photoshop?
We take great care in preparing for your photo shoot. Everything from selecting the perfect wardrobe, to professional hair and makeup. During the session, I will be posing you to flatter your shape and to bring out the features you love most about yourself. I use a lot of natural light which helps soften and smooth skin beautifully. I also use studio lights to fill in shadows when needed. If there’s anything temporary on your body (bruise, scratch, bug bite, acne, sunburn, etc.), I’ll make sure to eliminate them while I’m retouching. Anything permanent (tattoos, scars, moles, beauty marks, fine lines, etc.), will be softened but still visible unless requested to be removed.
Q: Will my images be private?
I take your personal privacy very seriously. Your images will be for your eyes only, or for anyone you wish to show them to on your own. I understand the need to keep your images safe and offline. The women displayed on my website, social media, and print marketing have given me their permission by voluntarily agreeing to sign a model release. Women who wish to share their images online are excited to show off their beautiful images, but it’s never expected or required.
